WANNABE pop star Alex Moir, from Halesowen, is hoping his debut release will be top of the pops.
The 23-year-old singer/songwriter has already hit top spot with Like Ted Dexter in the Reverbnation independent music website Indie charts.
He plans to release it as a four-track EP in the autumn with free downloads from his website.
Alex’s songs have had more than 14,000 plays on soundcloud and Like Ted Dexter' has already received radio play from BBC Radio 6, BBC WM, BBC Manchester, Amazing Radio and even an Australian station in Melbourne.
The acoustic guitarist, who performs Indie/pop, is also appearing at Liverpool’s Soundcity festival on May 3, at which Kate Bush is headlining.
Alex, of Foxlea Road, Hayley Green, said: “It’s going to be amazing. It’s a ginormous event, so prestigious, the biggest UK urban festival.”
He has also supported the likes of Gabrielle Aplin and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Now a full-time musician, he mastered his art playing at venues throughout the area, especially Stourbridge and Birmingham, and can be seen at the city’s Talk Bar on Saturday April 19.
“I feel that connection to the local community is strong and without Stourbridge I would not have had the platform to grow into who I am today,” he added.
