SCOUTS from Stourbridge St Thomas’ group will be raising cash for the Halesowen News backed A Fusion of Music and Dance 2017.

The scouts will be packing bags at Tesco, Crown Centre, on Saturday between 9am and 4.30pm.

A similar event raised an incredible £770 last year when Ridgewood High School pupils packed bags in aid of our sister paper the Stourbridge News’ Well of Life appeal which funded a £12,500 water well in Africa.

Every penny raised on Saturday will be donated to the chosen charities of A Fusion of Music and Dance 2017 – Birmingham Dogs’ Home and The MS Society.

Halesowen News assistant editor Pete Wallace said: “I am delighted the scouts from St Thomas' group have delighted to raise funds for two great causes – Birmingham Dogs’ Home and The MS Society.

“I will be at Tesco on Saturday as it is an inspiration seeing how hard these youngsters work on the day.”

The founder of A Fusion of Music and Dance Leigh Perry, principal of Dorridge Music School, has brought together over 300 performers, including the concert’s patron, legendary ELO drummer Bev Bevan, to perform at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Sunday, May 7. This year’s line-up includes Britain’s Got Talent finalists Beau Dermott and Richard and Adam, rising opera starlet Faith Tucker and the Town Hall Gospel Choir, among many others.

But we need YOU to help us make it a record-breaking success – by making donations, arranging fundraising events or buying tickets for the show itself.
