A BUS driver has died after suffering a medical episode at the wheel in Oldbury this morning.
The double-decker bus crashed into the front wall of a house on Wolverhampton Road at around 7.40am today (Saturday October 15).
Emergency services - including medics, police and firefighters - raced to the scene near the junction of Titford Road just before 8am.
Sadly nothing could be done to save the driver and he was prounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A bus driver has died after suffering a medical episode in Oldbury this morning.
"The bus collided with a wall at the junction of Titford Road and Wolverhampton Road at around 7.40am.
"There were no passengers on the bus and no one else has been injured.
"Road closures are in place which will be lifted in due course.
"Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the man."
A spokesman for National Express West Midlands said the company was liaising with the driver's family and did not wish to comment at this stage.
