A BLACKHEATH balti's sauce has been launched at 14 of The Midcounties Co-operative's stores.
The Balti Towers sauce was produced by restaurant owners Habib and Sadique Mohammed at the suggestion of one of their most well-known customers, Jan O Pederson, the 1991 Speedway World Champion.
Jan was a regular at Balti Towers when he rode for Cradley Heathens. When he returned to Denmark he missed the taste of the food so much that he asked for a way of making it available in his homeland.
Habib and Sadique came up with the cooking sauce, which is made and bottled in the Black Country to their own recipe, and as well as exporting it to Denmark it has now gone on sale at selected Midcounties stores including ones in Quinton and Sedgley.
Sadique said: “The manager of our local Midcounties store heard about the sauce and asked if he could stock it.
"Midcounties is the first retailer to sell the sauce and hopefully it will really take off."
