A Colley Gate man who had a large kitchen knife in Bourne Street, Dudley, has been given a suspended jail sentence. Andrew Michael Turton, aged 41, of Tan House Lane, was sentenced to 6 months jail, suspended for 18 months. He has been put on a tagged curfew between 5pm and 5am for three months and must pay £313 in fines and costs. He pleaded guilty.
A banned drink-driver has been jailed for 18 weeks because of his history of offending. Neil Aston Beckford, aged 50, of Brandhall Court, Oldbury, admitted driving a silver Audi in Pound Road while over the limit. He also admitted driving whole disqualified and without insurance. He was ordered to pay £257 in costs.
A Rowley Regis man has been fined £150 and ordered to pay £269 in costs and compensation after stealing cash from an Oldbury garage. Matthew Tierney, aged 35, of Durham Road, admitted stealing, jointly with another man, an unknown amount of cash from a Texaco service station.
An Oldbury man who was driving an off-road motorcycle on Birmingham Road in Dudley was over the limit and had no insurance, tax or licence. Kaspars Saulitens, aged 30, of Bond Street, admitted the offences and was banned for 17 months and ordered to pay £469 in fines and costs. He had 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the limit is 35.
A man who swung a Staffordshire Bull Terrier by the neck has been ordered to pay £230 after he admitted causing unnecessary suffering. Wayne Warren Collins, aged 49, of Oldbury Road, Rowley Regis, was also ordered to carry out 180 hours unpaid work.

Daemon Maher, aged 36 of Harvest Road, pleaded guilty to ‘buying or acquiring a weapon that discharged electricity’, and having an extendable baton in St Giles Avenue. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay £313 in costs. Magistrates said the offences were serious, but the weapons were not used in dangerous circumstances.

A Halesowen man who has ‘turned his life around’ has avoided being sent to jail. Jonathon Peter West, aged 34, of Codham Road, Halesowen, admitted stealing alcohol worth £72 from the Co-op, and was given a conditional discharge for a year and ordered to pay £72 compensation. The theft meant he had breached a 27-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months imposed in April. A Halesowen man has been ordered to pay £1,380 and disqualified for six months for a string of speeding offences. Steven Thomas Darnley, aged 40, of Bournes Hill, admitted five offences dating back to 2014 of speeding in Blakedown, Malvern, on the M4 in Wales, and in Somerset.
A Halesowen woman was ordered to pay £465 compensation and given a conditional discharge for six months after admitting damaging a Ford Fiesta car belonging to another woman. She was Juanita Colleen Mare Dawes, aged 29, of Pickersleigh Close.
