OLD Halesonians RFC signalled their title credentials with a thumping 90-10 win over Barkers Butts in Midlands One West.
The home side ran in 14 tries and set the theme with a strong start as their forwards created multiple breaks for the backs.
Centre Andy Robinson had a great day with strong lines of running resulting in two early tries, either side of a Steve Powell score.
Joe Oxford’s dazzling play on the wing saw him claim a hat-trick, while replacement centre Ed Binham crossed twice.
There were also tries for Jake Harley-Yeadon, Luke Smith, Andy Holloway, Tom Harris and Pete Fitzgerald, while Dave Hadkiss kicked 10 conversions.
The seconds also got in on the act as they recorded a 65-10 win at Droitwich.
Steve Deakin opened the scoring with the first of what proved to be three first half tries for him, while Alex Church also went over early on.
Droitwich only had a penalty to show for their efforts as they trailed 24-3 at the break.
Dave Wakefield scored early in the second half to nullify any threat of a comeback from the home side, while further scores from Dave Wakefield, Jon Harris, Ben Perks and Seb Rose saw them accelerate away.
Wakefield grabbed his second before Matt Weaver and Tim Curtis touched down late on to complete the rout.
