UP to 60 young Muslims from a Halesowen mosque will be walking, running or cycling tomorrow in an annual 10k fundraiser to raise £15,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

The group from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, based at the Baitul Ghafoor Mosque, Long Lane, will join up to 2,000 people taking part in the challenge in Milton Keynes to raise £250,000 in total.

Youth leader Wasim Shah said: “AMYA is committed to helping those in need and to benefiting the communities.”

The charity’s fundraising volunteer manager Warren Appleby said: “Heart disease can affect anyone, young, old, male or female – it doesn’t discriminate. We all know someone who has been affected by heart disease.

“We really appreciate the huge effort that AMYA put into raising funds for the charity to enable us to continue our life saving work.”
