THE Black Country Living Museum can be seen in a different light this month with visitors being offered a ‘Night at the Museum’.
The popular Dudley venue will be opening its doors after dark on Saturday May 18 as part of an annual UK wide weekend of late openings to highlight arts and heritage venues.
Visitors can experience the Tipton Road museum’s village when illuminated by gas and candlelight, while being treated to musical entertainers, street performers, choirs and brass bands.
A further taste of the past is provided with real ale being served at the ‘Bottle and Glass’ Inn together with 1930’s style fish and chips.
Chief Executive Andrew Lovett said: “Events such as ‘Museums at Night’ captures the imagination and encourages people to do something different with their evening.
“The Black Country Living Museum after dark is one of the most atmospheric settings in the region.”
Tickets for the evening must be pre-purchased in advance and will cost half the normal admission price with adults being charged £7.75p, young people £4.15 and concessions £6.20.
