A HALESOWEN running club is hosting the annual Cobra Classic 10km race and 3.5km fun run on Sunday, May 19.
The event, which starts and finishes at Old Halesonians Rugby Club, Wassel Grove, is organised by Cobra Running and Triathlon Club.
Cobra chairman Steve Fletcher said: “The course is undulating, with some lovely country views and a short off-road section.
“This is one of the attractions, along with Cobra’s legendary warm welcome.”
The Classic is just one reason why Cobra has been going from strength to strength, with membership growing to over 100.
The club enables people to prepare for road races, triathlon and cross country.
Mr Fletcher said: “Our motto is ‘Running for Fitness, Running for Fun’, and our Wednesday beginners’ nights have been a great success.”
“Runners who can already complete 5 miles non-stop are welcome to try Cobra’s Tuesday or Thursday sessions, based at Halesowen Pool. Newcomers are impressed by the friendly welcome they receive, and nobody gets left behind.”
Runners of all ages and abilities will be taking part in the two races and people can register on the day or in advance, which is cheaper..
