TEAM manager Simon Hussey insists Old Halesonians will keep fighting for success this season, but admits it will now be difficult to make the play-offs.
Old Hales' season has hit the buffers in the last two weeks after back-to-back defeats against promotion rivals.
Hales lost to Sutton Coldfield before being beaten by league leaders Broadstreet last weekend. It is a set of results that makes it unlikely that they will be able to secure a National League Three Midlands play-off place.
Saturday's game saw Halesonians lose 36-8 despite going in at the break 8-5 up.
Broadstreet took the lead after 20 minutes after a period of pressure. Hales fought back with some excellent passages of play that resulted in Chris Hooper kicking a penalty.
Old Hales maintained the pressure that resulted in flanker Tom Jordan going over to give the visitors an 8-5 lead at half time.
In the second half, Broadstreet hit back well and rolled and mauled for a well deserved converted try to lead 12-8.
After 50 minutes, Broadstreet again piled on the pressure to force another try.
What started as a confident Hales performance was reduced to a defensive stance that played into the hands of the home side.
The home side's dominance soon started to show and they worked their backs to put together a one sided show of a further three tries, two converted, for a lead of 36 - 8 at full-time.
Hussey said: "The last two results makes it very difficult for us now. We are going to need a lot of bonus point wins to get back into the mix by the end of the season.
"But we are going to keep fighting and will be looking to bounce back with a win as soon as possible."
Fourth-placed Old Hales will face fifth-placed Hinckley at home this Saturday as they look to get their season back on track.
