HALESOWEN Town are on the brink of title glory if they can overcome one last hurdle.

They travel to Belper Town for Saturday's final game of the season knowing a victory will seal Northern Premier League Division One South success.

The Yeltz have gone on an eight game winning streak that has handed them a massive chance to be crowned champions this weekend.

They continued their promotion charge with a 3-1 away win against Carlton last Saturday. Two more goals from Ben Haseley and a late Jean Gueyes strike kept them firmly on course for glory.

Second-placed Coalville's 2-0 loss at home to Gresley on Monday has now handed them a two point advantage going into the campaign's final fixture.

Coalville and Leek and still claim the title, but both are now relying on Halesowen failing to win at Belper, who have already secured a spot in this season's play-off places.

Manager John Hill is preparing his side for a tough task as they try and get over the finishing line.

He said: "There is no doubting that Belper are a very good side. Like us, they too have won the last eight games.

"It's going to be a difficult task to go there needing the win, but that is exactly what we wanted and the scenario we have been working towards.

"We are at the top of the league on merit and all of the players are looking forward to the game. They have worked so hard and deserve to be in a position to win this league.

"I'm sure there will be a few nerves but we have some experienced players that I'm confident can handle that. There isn't too much pressure because we have reached all our goals this season already. Before we kicked a ball we thought we'd have an outside chance at getting in the play-offs, anything else now is a very big bonus for the club. We just need to embrace the occasion and carry on how we've been performing."

Hill pointed to the omission of Halesowen's players from the league's team of the season as a reason for their success so far.

"I think it speaks volumes about us as a team," he added. "Not to have a single player in the team of the season shows how we work. There are no superstars here, we are a team and we work for each other."
