Sir, I read with interest the article in Halesowen News about the rejection of a new mosque in Highgate Street, Old Hill.
I live in Best Street where the current Masjid mosque is situated.
At certain times of the week there are around 50 cars parked along both sides of Best Street and Wellington Street making it almost impossible to access our own homes which are mainly occupied by elderly people.
There is Aspley House, an old folks home and Wellington Court, which is a housing association block for over 55-year-olds.
If the emergency services are called out they can not get down the road.
So who gave planning permission for this?
Sandwell Council told me its not their problem, have they any idea what they are doing?
Seems not.
Yours sincerely.
Michael Suddens, Best Street, Old Hill.
