Budding entrepreneurs at an Oldbury school are celebrating after being awarded for their business sense.
Pupils at Perryfields High School defeated competition from numerous other schools to claim the most enterprising product award in Sandwell's round of the Young Enterprise Scheme.
Their personalised mouse-mats, which utilise state-of-the-art blue tooth technology, wowed the judges and they will now represent the borough in the Black Country finals later this month.
Diane Green, Enterprise Co-ordinator at the school, said: "The pupils volunteered for the scheme at the start of the year and have had to do it all alongside their normal school work.
"They have to run the project like a proper company, have held board meetings and have to look after a budget."
More than 165,000 school-goers across the country are involved in the national scheme, which teaches youngsters the basics of running a business.
Fifteen-year-old Mitchell Parker, a member of the Perryfields' team, said the most nerve-wracking part of the project was presenting the product to the judges.
He said: "The idea for the mats came because we know a lot of people have computers and we thought they would have a wide appeal.
"The experience has been a real eye-opener for us and we have had to put a lot of work in."
