I find it intriguing that councils are considering fortnightly collections of domestic waste and stating that 'research has' shown that there will be no increase in vermin infestation or an increased risk to Public Health.
However we are also being made aware that councils are being allowed to impose £60 fixed penalties on householders who are putting their waste out 'too early' (and this can be as early as 24 hours before the collection) as there is an increased risk of vermin infestation and the distribution of waste by foxes!! which will lead to a threat to Public Health!!
I find this a fascinating Governmental contradiction or am I being cynical that the fixed penalties are yet another way of extracting 'stealth taxes' from the already overburdened taxed population?
I would certainly be interested in what your readers think!!
