Re: the letter from Stuart Box regarding his view the £60 on the spot fines may be a stealth tax.
While there may be some truth in that, to help councils raise extra money, cutting the weekly domestic waste collection to every two weeks may well increase vermin.
What annoys me, is how Mr Box seems to accept homeowners putting their domestic waste out about 24 hours before the collection day.
Is he really happy with rubbish piling up in our streets and blowing all over the place?
As well as cats and foxes ripping bags open, so they can get at the contents, this being unsightly and makes our street a tip.
Fly tipping is against the law, rightfully so. Those caught should be fined £1,000.
If you do not agree with on the spot fines, or as some people may call them stealth taxes, then people should not drop litter or put their rubbish out for collection 24 hours before bin men are due or fly tip.
Simple really isn't it?
