As a member of Halesowen Trefoil Guild I was delighted to undertake my second project for the Abundance of Pure Love En Route To Africa for babies born with AIDS.
I am delighted to say 50 boxes containing 3,872 hand knitted and crocheted baby garments, in the most beautiful array of bright colours (garments must not be knitted in white as this is a sign of mourning in Africa) have been sent to Africa.
The absolute mass of garments just exuded the pure love of all the knitters.
I would like to thank most sincerely all those friends, friends of friends, who I have not even met, neighbours, ex Brownie mums and grandparents, not now living in Halesowen, for helping me achieve this stupendous amount of items.
I would like to thank those groups who have taken my project as a challenge to their members. I would also like to thank John Baines of First Class School Uniforms, Stirchley, and driver Adrian Reidy for providing transport to Worcester.
I would like to mention my next door neighbours Molly and Dave Wade for their time and energy in helping me in the marathon task of sealing and labelling all boxes.
Everyone who has taken part has said how much pleasure it has given them and how proud they have been to be part of it.
