VOLUNTEERS at Kinver Library are set to host a special ‘open house’ event to celebrate their first anniversary of taking over the popular village hub.
The event – featuring a prize raffle, a children’s lucky dip and free refreshments – will take place from 9.15am until 1pm on Saturday (January 6).
Katherine Dixson, the library’s publicity officer, said: “It's been a busy and challenging year but we have a fantastic group of volunteers who have gone the extra mile in getting to grips with the complexities.
“We constantly get positive feedback from borrowers and users of our many services, and they're very appreciative that the library has remained open.”

The volunteers said they are looking forward to seeing as many visitors as possible on Saturday as they set their sights on an “exciting and busy” second year.
