MONEY, Money, Money – plenty of it rolled in when fundraising was the Name of the Game at a charity Abba singalong concert in Halesowen recently.
The Lapal Community Choir led wannabe Agnethas and Bennys in belting out hits such as Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! – and those in attendance at St Peter’s Church duly obliged, helping to raise £600.
That total – which included money raised at previous events – is being donated to The White House charity, which supports families in Halesowen and Dudley who have been affected by cancer.
The choir’s Jayne Mills said: “Many of us in the choir have been affected personally in one way or another with cancer and are happy that we can support this charity which helps many local people.”
Lapal Community Choir is the brainchild of The Reverend Hazel Charlton at St Peter’s in Hiplands Road, Lapal, and it meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 6.30pm.
