CARING Cradley Heath Central Mosque have donated £600 worth of food to the Black Country Food Bank in time for Christmas.
The mosque raised the money by staging two cake sales over Eid.
Mosque spokesman Adnan Tariq said: "Times are hard, you only have to see the amount of people using the Food Bank to realise how serious the situation is.
"I'd never visited a Food Bank myself until a couple of years ago and it makes you realise how desperate some people get over Christmas.
"So we deliberately waited until Christmas before making the donation."
The mosque donated £500 to Russells Hall Hospital's Children's Unit earlier in the year.
Adnan added: "We will be looking to help more local charities next year."
