A DOG has died after becoming trapped under ice at Leasowes Park in Halesowen.
Firefighters managed to drag the dog out of the water but he could not be saved.
The pooch got into trouble just after 10am on Friday (February 1).
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "We were called to Mucklow Hill at 10.11am to reports of a dog in the pond.
"We sent two fire engines and a total of 10 firefighters.
"When they reached the scene, there was a dog who had become stuck in ice in the pond.
"Firefighters used a combination of hooks and poles to recover the animal but, unfortunately, the dog had died."
