DARING teddy bears can take part in a terrifying parachute jump from the tower of a Cradley church this weekend.
St Peter's Church in Church Road is staging the jumps as part of a fun day on Saturday June 8, to raise money for its Heritage Clock fund.
Anyone brave enough to want to see their teddy take a leap of faith and plummet from the heights of the tower can pay £1 for the privilege.
Funds will go towards the aim of raising more than £7k to install the clock from the now-demolished Church of St Luke in Cradley Heath and install it on the tower at St Peter’s to keep the memory of St Luke’s alive.
There will also be a bouncy castle, stalls, a micro brewery stall and refreshments at the event, which runs from 10am till 2pm.
History group Cradley Then and Now will be available to help people search graveyard and burial records.
Rev Katryn Leclézio said people should bring a parachute with their teddy if possible for the jump. She said the church has already raised £3,600 towards the appeal.
