AN inquest has recorded a verdict of suicide after the death of a 41-year-old Halesowen man.
Michael Webb died from an overdose at his home in Avon Road on March 22 this year.
An inquest at the Black Country Coroners' Court in Oldbury heard that Mr Webb, who was single, suffered from complex mental health problems as well as drug and alcohol dependency.
He also suffered from depression and anxiety and was on medication and receiving treatment.
A toxicology report showed Mr Webb, who was born in Wordsley, died from an overdose.
Senior Coroner for the Black Country Zafar Siddique told the inquest Mr Webb had sent a text message indicating his intention to take his own life.
Mr Siddique said: "Given the message he left and the note he left indicating his intention to take his own life, I'm going to sadly formally conclude that the late Michael Webb took his own life and the formal conclusion of suicide.
"Can I take this opportunity to pass my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Mr Webb."
