POLICE are warning Cradley Heath residents to be on their guard after incidents in the area in the early hours.

Reports were made about attempted burglaries in Plant Street and Haden Park Road between 4.30am and 5.30am this morning (Wednesday February 3).

At one address two men in a cream Mini were seen trying the door handles of a vehicle parked on the drive and one man then proceeded to try the house door handle before they were disturbed by a neighbour.

The Mini, which is believed to be on false plates, was then involved in a police chase, but was lost in Quarry Bank.

At another address a man was seen trying the door handle at the rear of the property after getting into the garden via a rear gate.

Police Community Support Officer Stephanie King put out the warning on the neighbourhood alert system.
