A NEW soft play centre has opened at Halesowen Leisure Centre.
The Adventure play area is the "latest and most exciting indoor soft play centre to arrive in Dudley borough" according to Dudley Council.
It opened on Sunday January 2 after phase one of major refurbishment work at the council-run centre on Great Cornbow was completed.
A revamped gym, wellbeing/toning suite, new entrance and reception area have also opened.
The pool and changing rooms will remain closed until Spring as part of a multi-million pound revamp of the site.
The new adventure play area is designed for young toddlers and children under the age of 11 years, with a maximum height of 148cm.
On the centre's website it says: "The toddler area has been designed specifically for the under 3s, with equipment which are both stimulating and safe and tailored to meet the requirements of our youngest visitors.
"For the over 3s the two-tiered soft play section is filled with state of the art equipment boasting three slides and a unique cyber tower.
"The tower has two separate vertical obstacle courses which can be used by one child on their own, or two children can compete against each other in a race to the top and back.
"A clock on the outside of the towers records the times of each child and will display the competitors time."
All children must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult aged at least 16 years of age.
Booking a place is recommended.
You can book a place by calling the centre on 01384 812800 (option 2) and paying over the phone.
Alternatively, you can just turn up on the day - however this does not guarantee a place.
A maximum of 50 places are available for two-hourly time slots from 9.30am till 7pm Monday to Friday and from 9.30am till 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday.
At peak times entrance costs £5, at off peak times it costs £3.50.
