ITV's hit show Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway upset Halesowen residents by saying it's in Birmingham.
Presenter Andi Peters visited staff and diners at Balti Towers on Long Lane, Halesowen, to give away £100,000 prize money.
The Mayor of Dudley Councillor Anne Millward and Halesowen North councillor Stuart Henley were spotted on screen having a meal.
But the episode led to disgruntled comments from people upset that the restaurant was described as being in Birmingham, instead of Halesowen, which is actually in the borough of Dudley.
Cllr Stuart Henley said: "This weekend we've seen a great local restaurant being part of a great national Ant and Dec TV program, that saw Andi Peters visit Shell Corner, Halesowen not Birmingham as was broadcast on the program!
"It's great to see Shell Corner being put on the map and great to have a local business and its own curry sauce promoted on one of the great watched national TV programmes.
"Balti Towers is not only a great restaurant but a curry sauce producer."
He tweeted: "Great night had in Halesowen North, Shell Corner, Halesowen (NOT BIRMINGHAM)."

Another person tweeted: "Why not say you're in Halesowen near Bham .."
Another said: "If only the studio hadn’t kept announcing you’re in Birmingham!
"Someone failed their research again, not for the 1st time either."

Balti Towers part-owner Mohammed Habib said the restaurant's postcode is definitely Halesowen.
He said: "We were just pleased to be on TV. It was a genuine mistake saying Birmingham, not Halesowen.
"It's good publicity. We had a great night as did around 50 diners who were all local people.
"The show contacted us - I thought it was a prank at first!
"We've been here for more than 30 years. Black Country folk are lovely - without them we wouldn't be where we are."
The popular restaurant even produces its own curry sauce for people who want to enjoy a curry in their own home.
