HALESOWEN drivers have been hit with hefty fines by magistrates for motoring offences.

A 61-year-old man was disqualified from driving for 12 months for drug driving on a motorway.

Kevin Marriott of Greenhill Road, Halesowen, was caught driving on the M3 in Hampshire with 235 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine in his blood on August 3.

He was hit with a £120 fine and was also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £135 costs at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on February 23.

His guilty plea was taken into account.

Meanwhile, Christian Harvey of Woodland Road, Halesowen, was caught speeding between junctions five and four of the M6 on September 13.

The 42-year-old was clocked driving at 60 miles per hour by an automatic camera device, exceeding the limit of 50 miles per hour.

He was hit with a £315 fine by Birmingham Magistrates Court on February 21 and was also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £95 costs.

His guilty plea was taken into account.

Thomas Crumpton, 27, of Sandringham Road, Halesowen, was caught speeding on Duncan Edwards Way on August 3.

He was caught by a manned camera device driving at 50 miles per hour, over the 40 miles per hour limit.

His guilty plea was taken into account when the sentence was imposed and he was also ordered to pay a £191 fine, £34 surcharge and £95 costs at Birmingham Magistrates Court on February 21.
