A BLACK Country auctioneer has landed a role as an expert on TV antiques show Cash in the Attic.
Kayleigh Davies, an expert in toys and retro items at Fieldings Auctioneers in Stourbridge, will be seen on the new series of the much-loved show which has been picked up by Channel 5.
The 36-year-old, who grew up in the Halesowen area and now lives in Wollaston, Stourbridge, will be making her TV debut when the new series airs later this year.
Kayleigh, who was educated at Cradley High School and Halesowen College, is one of five experts on the show, which formerly ran on BBC.
A specialist in retro toys, comics, film memorabilia and collectibles, Kayleigh started her career in the antiques industry at Aston Auctioneers in Dudley, which held its final auction in 2020, and she’s been working at Fieldings in Mill Race Lane for three- and-a-half years.
She said her most incredible find to date has been the discovery of a “really nice Fantastic Four 1962 comic in a box of scrappy old comics” and she told the News: “It was the first time Dr Doom had appeared in the comic.
“It was in very poor condition, the cover was a bit ripped, but it still fetched £1,450.”
The new series of Cash in the Attic, which turns hidden treasures into cash, is expected to air in late summer.
