DIGNITARIES gathered in Sandwell today to proclaim the former Prince of Wales as the UK’s new King.
Deputy Lieutenant John Wood @WMLieutenancy opened the historic accession proclamation ceremony at Sandwell Council House at 1pm and Sandwell's Mayor Councillor Richard Jones read the proclamation from the balcony of the council house at Oldbury.
Ceremonies have been taking place across the country today after the national accession proclamation for the new King Charles III was held in London yesterday – watched on by new Prime Minister Liz Truss, former PMs and members of the Privy Council.
