A FERRARI driver who crashed into a line of parked cars in Halesowen has been fined more than £10k and banned from getting behind the wheel.

Richard Cullen, from Romsley, lost control of the £500k supercar on Hagley Road.

At Birmingham Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday February 27), he was fined £3,008 for driving without due care and attention and £7,061 for failing to stop after the accident, leaving him with a total fine of £10,069.

Cullen, of St Kenelms Road, was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £185 and a surcharge of £190.

In total he must pay £10,444.

The court heard how Cullen admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after the accident on May 25 last year.

The 50-year-old left the scene of the crash, with a picture released by firefighters at Haden Cross station showing the £500k supercar reduced to a wreck.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said at the time: "Shortly before 7.45pm on Wednesday 25 May we responded to Hagley Road, Halesowen, where a car had been in collision with five parked vehicles."

They added: "The driver of the car had left the scene before we arrived.

"We made the vehicle safe and left the incident in the hands of the police at 8.45pm."

The Ferrari SF90 goes from zero to 124mph in 6.7 seconds, and has a top speed of 211mph.
