STOURBRIDGE metal punk rock band WEAK13 have signed their first ever record deal with Italy based independent international label Sliptrick Records.
An A&R representative contacted the band after hearing their December 2022 single release Black Country Rampage.
WEAK13 singer and guitarist Nick J Townsend said: “They got in contact with us late last year and we liked what they had to say.
“It’s not the first time WEAK13 have been approached by a label; we’ve had offers in the past but found most of them inadequate. This time it seems like the correct decision for the band.”
The band agreed to release a single on Sliptrick Records in April titled I’m More Metal Than You which was recorded at Stourbridge's Base Studios and produced by Simon Henley.
Nick said: “The song is as satirical as it is heavy, one of the most metal tunes you’ll ever hear but delivered with a touch of sarcasm”.
WEAK13 are planning to release more music later in the year.
Nick added: “We’re not rushing into anything but at the same time there’s a lot of work ahead of us.
“There’s much music for us to release and hopefully a lot of our more insane artistic ideas will come to fruition much faster.”
I’m More Metal Than You is available on all major music platforms.
