A MAN in his 20s has died after a car crash in Rowley Regis this morning (Saturday April 29).
Police said a car hit a lampopost just after 5.30am in Penncricket Lane.
A passenger in the vehicle was fatally injured and two other men in the car suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The road is expected to remain closed for most of the day while investigators work at the scene to try to establish what happened.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We are currently in Penncricket Lane, Rowley Regis, following a collision this morning.
"Shortly after 5.30am a car hit a lamppost and a passenger in his 20s sadly suffered fatal injuries.
"A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and officers remain at the scene carrying out enquiries.
"Another man was taken to hospital with a broken arm and another with minor head injuries.
"The road will be closed and the scene kept in place for most of today.
