LAPAL Community Choir had cause to fear the worst when their musical director decided to change jobs and leave the area altogether.
It left the choir's future in serious doubt as the task of finding a suitable replacement would prove to be challenging.
Thankfully those fears have been alleyed thanks to the arrival of semi-retired music teacher Liz Littler .
She has taken up the reins of musical director and will be in place when the choir returns from its summer break on Monday, September 4.
A spokesperson for the choir said: "We knew finding someone with the right skills who was willing to undertake this role on a voluntary basis would be challenging".
The choir are now on the lookout for new members to join them. Liz Littler added: "I'm absolutely thrilled to support this wonderful community choir, which means so much to its members.
"No need to worry if you can't read music or have been told you can't sing - come and join us and have fun."
