POLICE were at a Halesowen convenience store supporting staff and customers.
Officers from Halesowen policing team held a pop-up Cop Shop at Co-op on Spies Lane on Sunday (September 17).
They tweeted: "Halesowen Officers have held a pop-up Cop Shop this evening at Co-op Spies Lane in order to offer support to staff and customers and to prevent any offences occurring. #itswhatwedo."
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) estimates that there were 8m “theft incidents” in British shops last year, costing £953m.
It has said that shop theft is rising, with incidents more than doubling since 2016-17.
