A TEENAGE girl has been hit by a car in Halesowen with the air ambulance at the scene.
The 17-year-old girl, a pedestrian, was hit on Furnace Lane at 12.56pm today (Monday September 25).
The Midlands Air Ambulance landed on playing fields at Earls High, which is on Furnace Lane.
The girl was treated for serious injuries at the scene before being taken to the QE by land ambulance.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Furnace Lane at 12.56pm.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage female, who was the pedestrian.
"She was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham by land ambulance."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Whittingham Road, Halesowen, close to its junction with Furnace Lane, shortly before 1pm today (Monday) after a pedestrian was struck by a car.
"The girl, aged 17, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not deemed to be life-threatening."
