NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Dudley’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
Top 1 Pizza, a takeaway also Trading As Beef Belly Grill House, in New Street, Dudley, was given a score of four-out-of-five on September 26.
And Waterfront Inn, in Waterfront East, Brierley Hill, was handed a one-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 26.
The ratings have been published on the Food Standards Agency’s website which rates businesses from zero to five so customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.
A rating of five means hygiene standards are very good, four means hygiene standards are good, three means hygiene standards are generally satisfactory, two means some improvement is necessary, a rating of one means major improvement is necessary and a rating of zero means urgent improvement is required.
Eddie Gershon, spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon, said the recent inspection of the Waterfront Inn "revealed issues which we are working closely with the EHO to quickly resolve".
He added: "A revisit is being arranged when we hope the previous 5 star food hygiene rating the pub has enjoyed since 2011 will be restored.
"Overall Wetherspoon pubs have an average food hygiene rating of 4.98 stars which is the highest of any large pub company.”
People can see the results of all food hygiene inspections via Dudley Council’s website or on the national ratings.food.gov.uk website.
