A THRIVING Rowley Regis pub is set to mark the anniversary of new owners taking over and giving it a complete transformation.
The Old Bush Revived is celebrating a year since Black Country Ales bought it, on Friday December 22 with a party and live music.
Since the brewery bought the pub on Powke Lane last December it has gone from strength to strength under the watchful eye of new landlady and landlord Giorgia Johnson and Matt Crisp, who took the helm at the same time.
The pub was given a makeover by the brewery and is bucking the trend at a time when many pubs are closing.
Giorgia, aged 31, said: "The feedback has been really positive - people really like what's been done to the pub.
"It's updated and the smaller rooms have been knocked through to make it open plan, but it still has a traditional feel.
"We have open fires - it's very warm and welcoming.
"We want to get the word out that we are here as some people living nearby didn't realise the pub had new owners.
"We're staging lots of events and are steady in sales week by week and doing well at a time when unfortunately it seems like a lot of pubs are closing."
Giorgia and Matt, aged 43, moved from the Red Man in Kidderminster - now called The Post House.
The Old Bush Revived, which has a five-star hygiene rating and Facebook and Instagram pages, stages events such as dog nights where services such as groomers, trainers, walkers and pet photographers come together and pooches are welcome.
It has held a charity bridal show to support Mary Stevens Hospice and hosts quizzes, bingo nights and live music.
It serves bar snacks including pork pies and cobs and has a darts team.
The party on Friday will feature music from singer Bella Boen from 8pm.
The Old Bush Revived is open Sunday to Thursday from noon till 11pm and from noon till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
