A FORMER children’s centre in Quinton has sold for more than half a million pounds at auction.
The derelict former Four Dwellings Children's Centre, in Quinton Road West, was among properties listed for sale in the latest Bond Wolfe Auctions sale, held on Thursday February 8.
Listed with a guide price of £300,000+, the fire-damaged property, which was among a collection being sold off by cash-strapped Birmingham City Council, went under the hammer for £565,000.
Sales particulars stated the single-storey freehold building, next to our Dwellings Primary School, would need renovating but may be suitable for redevelopment.
A spokesperson for Bond Wolfe Auctions said: “This single storey building with internal space of 2,622 sq ft had been subjected to fire damage, but its prospects for redevelopment, subject to planning consents, meant the hammer came down at £565,000.”
Bond Wolfe’s next auction will be on Wednesday March 27, starting at 9am.
