AN opticians in Halesowen put the focus on children’s safety by donating high visibility vests to a local Scout troop.
Specsavers store in the Cornbow Shopping Centre provided the brightly coloured tabards to Beavers from the 1st Halesowen Scout Group, in Elizabeth Road, to wear during outdoor activities.
Beaver leader Cathy Field visited the store with Scout Hayden Betteridge, Cubs Ben Gill and Macaulay Guy and Beaver Rosie Price to accept the vests on behalf of the group.
Cathy said: “We are thrilled with the donation from Specsavers Halesowen. It will help keep the younger members of the group safe while doing various activities such as community litter picking, walking hikes and obtaining their local knowledge badge.”
Specsavers Halesowen store director, Shahid Parvez, said the vests would help to “make the children are visible and safe while they are out and about” – adding: “It also goes hand in hand with our business, which is improving vision and visibility.”
