A 55-year-old man has appeared in court charged with causing the deaths of two teenagers through dangerous driving.
Dhiya Al Maamoury appeared at Dudley Magistrates' Court this morning (Tuesday February 20) after Liberty Charris, aged 16 and Ben Corfield, aged 19, died in an incident in Oldbury in 2022.
The case was sent to Wolverhampton Crown Court, with the next hearing scheduled to take place on March 19.
Maamoury was granted unconditional bail.
Liberty and Ben, both from Dudley, died after a blue Nissan Skyline hit a number of pedestrians who were gathered on the A457 Oldbury Road near the junction with Crystal Drive at around 11.30pm on November 20, 2022.
A man and woman in their 20s were also injured and are continuing with their recovery.
Maamoury, from Hobs Moat Road, in Solihull, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was granted unconditional bail.
