A BEST-selling author who lifted the lid on the struggles of hundreds of postmasters falsely accused by the Post Office of fraud is appearing in Dudley next week.

Nick Wallis was a series consultant on the critically-acclaimed ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Now the author of The Great Post Office Scandal is bringing the story behind the book to the stage at Dudley Town Hall on Friday April 19, starting at 7.30pm.

Award-winning journalist Wallis will tell the tale of the fight by hundreds of innocent people to clear their names after being told they owed thousands by the Post Office. In reality it was down to a glitch with a new computer system.

In the second half of the show there will also be a Q&A where Wallis will be joined by Wendy Buffrey, a former subpostmaster directly affected by the scandal.
