A care home provider recently held a free Dementia awareness for the families of residents.
The Carlton Care Group put together the informative session at its residential care homes, Lapal House and Grange Hill House in Halesowen.
With it being estimated that over a million people in the UK will have a Dementia diagnosis by 2025, the provider recognised the importance of offering support and information to all affected.

Amanda Adams from Adams Care Training led the afternoon, which included an exercise, a presentation, and the opportunity for attendees to share tea and cake.
The session was attended not only by families, friends and staff, but also by a resident keen to better understand the behaviour of his fellow residents living with Dementia.
One attendee said: "Thank you very much for putting this session on, we have found it so informative and useful; it’s helped us understand our mum’s behaviour and given us ways to deal with it.
"Meeting other families in same situation has been brilliant too."
Off the back of a successful first event, the group now plans to hold regular sessions throughout the year.
They are hosting another free-of-charge session on Thursday, June 13 at 2pm at Lapal House.
Interested parties can contact them on 07872 983755 for information, even if they don’t have a resident at either home.
