A major policing operation is set to return to the Black Country today following its success last year.
West Midlands Police said Operation Advance, which focuses on tackling priorities including serious youth violence, anti-social behaviour, theft and county lines operations, will be in place in Sandwell over the next 24 hours.
Residents are likely to see extra officers on the streets and specialist departments including road policing, the dog unit and the drone team in the borough today (Thursday, April 25).
Staff and officers from across the department will be dealing with problems that matter to the community.
Sandwell Police Commander Kim Madill said: "Today sees Op Advance return to Sandwell after its previous success last September.
"Over the last few weeks, we have carried out some significant work targeting county lines, anti-social behaviour and serious youth violence. The return of Op Advance will deliver more of the same.
"Please look out for us, come and say hello and do stop us and tell us if you see anything suspicious."
West Midlands Police will be sharing updates on social media and their website throughout the day with residents urged to follow Sandwell Police on Facebook, X, TikTok and Instagram.
