Rowley Regis resident Nancy Smart had a grand celebration for her century milestone at Newbury Manor, Oldbury.
The centenarian's family and the care home’s staff organised a party filled with colourful balloons, cakes, food and drink.
Born in Overend Cradley, Nancy was known for her passion for floristry and involvement with the local greengrocers. She cherished walking and singing and was an active member of the Hurst Green WI.
Nancy and her late husband, Norman, shared a 54-year-long marriage which produced two children, Janet and David, who reside close by and frequently visit.
When reflecting on her notable birthday, Nancy shared her astonishment at hitting a hundred years.
Among numerous gifts, one that stood out to her was a birthday card from King Charles.
Janet and David extended their heartfelt thanks to the Newbury Manor team for an incredible celebration for their mother.
They said: "It's been fantastic to celebrate with mom, and we'd like to say thank you to the team at Newbury Manor for making her birthday so special as well as the cards and well wishes sent by the children from St Philips Catholic Primary School."
Kam Kaur, home manager at Newbury Manor, said: "We had an absolutely wonderful day with Nancy. We always make birthdays very special for our residents and take these big milestone events very seriously on the celebration front and involve friends and family and the wider community too.
"We all wish Nancy continued happiness and good health."
