CHILDREN can once again make a splash for free at leisure centres in Sandwell during the upcoming school half-term and summer holidays.
Free swimming sessions, which are also available to Sandwell residents who are over 60 throughout the year, are available at several leisure centres across the borough, including the new state-of-the-art Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick.
Council Leader Councillor Kerrie Carmichael said: “Swimming is a vital skill for all to learn, as well as a fun and healthy activity for all ages.
"I would encourage young people and our older residents to enjoy the swimming sessions on offer.”
People can take up free swimming sessions if they are:
Sandwell children aged 18 and under during school holidays during designated free-swimming sessions – check Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) and Places Leisure websites for further details.
Sandwell residents aged 60 and over before 1pm every day.
Sandwell residents who are registered as disabled (for a pass visit your nearest Sandwell leisure centre with a pool).
