TALENTED young musicians and performers are bringing the musical version of the hit movie School of Rock to the stage in Brierley Hill this week.
Quarry Bank Musical Theatre Society is staging the local premiere of the show at Brierley Hill Civic Hall until Saturday June 8.
Musical director Chris Passey said: “It’s the musical version of the hit, iconic film with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and script by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes.
“Every night, the kids in the show play live on their rock band instruments and it’s all round stunning show.”
However, he said ticket sales have been “inexplicably low” so he’s urging theatre fans and lovers of the original movie to get themselves out and enjoy a night at the theatre.
Those involved with the show have said the society could face an uncertain future if they fail to sell enough tickets this time round.
A spokesperson for the theatre company added: “Everyone involved has worked so hard, and the show is going to be something very special.”
Tickets are available online from seaty.co.uk/schoolofrock or by calling 07742 803221.
