A SUSPECTED metal thief was arrested by police on a roof in Rowley Regis - with another man arrested after he ran off.
Officers responding to reports of a burglary arrested a 35-year-old man on a roof and a 21-year-old man, who was caught after he ran off.
They had been alerted to intruders forcing their way into business grounds in Oldbury Road at around 8pm yesterday (Sunday June 9).
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We promptly attended and recovered a bag of tools and found copper had been removed from a roof."
"A 35-year-old man was detained from the roof and another man, aged 21, following a foot chase.
"They've been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in police custody for questioning.
"We won't tolerate any form of burglary and we'll always look to identify and arrest suspects."
