A FORMER Blackheath bank is coming up at auction with a £300k guide price.
The former Barclays bank on Birmingham Road, is coming up at a Savills auction on Tuesday June 18.
Sales notes state that there is planning permission in place from Sandwell Council to convert the building into six two-bedroom flats.
They also state that there is "development potential to add additional dwellings (subject to the requisite consents)."
There is a large car park at the rear of the property with around 14 spaces.
The branch closed back in April last year as part of a string of closures by the bank and it has remained empty since.
Barclays said the closure was forced by the majority of its customers moving to online banking – claiming that only two of its customers in Blackheath used the Birmingham Road branch as their sole means of banking.
The planning application for flats said the location of the former bank building meant the planned conversion would make an “encouraging first impression” for Blackheath.
