A WOMAN pedestrian has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Quinton- with the busy road closed off by police.
The accident happened on West Boulevard, Quinton, just before 8.45am today (Monday June 24).
A road closure remained in place between Barnes Hill and Quinton Road West at 11.38am today, with people asked to avoid the area.
The motorist remained at the scene and is helping police with enquiries.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in West Boulevard, Quinton, at just before 8.45am today (24 June).
"A woman sustained serious injuries.
"The driver remained at the scene and is currently helping with our enquiries."
