THOUSANDS of revellers flocked to Halesowen Carnival at the weekend for music, rides, and fun for all the family.
The annual event, at Highfield Park on Saturday July 6, saw the return of a popular dog show, more than 70 stalls selling a variety of goodies, two live music stages, a Black Country Radio stage, fairground rides and much more.
Famous fitness instructor Mr Motivator took to the stage to lead people through a fun high-energy clubbercise routine and acts including Bhangra Smash Up took to the stage.
The event, which was free to attend, was made even more special by the Euros being televised onsite, with England's winning performance sending the crowd into raptures.
There was also wrestling and dance performances as well as Viking re-enactors to entertain the crowds.
Halesowen North councillor Stuart Henley, who is chairman of the festival's committee, said around three thousand people attended and enjoyed a "fun-filled day of entertainment, community spirit, and excitement" which he said was a "fantastic turnout."
He said: "We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the event, visited, and sponsored the day.
"Special thanks go to our main sponsor, Halesowen College, who were a huge hit with those who visited their gazebo and met with enthusiastic staff.
"Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for the free event and the wide range of entertainment options offered.
"We're thrilled that so many people had such a great time and look forward to building on this success for next year's 10th anniversary event."
"We're already in talks with potential sponsors for next year's milestone celebration and invite other interested parties to get in touch to discuss opportunities to be part of this popular community event."
