A RETIRED West Midlands Fire Service worker was found dead at Oldbury Fire Station in the early hours.
The former staff member, who has been named as Ian Revell, was discovered at the station in Old Park Lane, in the early hours of Monday, July 15.
The fire service said Mr Revell's death was "not being treated as suspicious" and that staff would be "working closely" with West Midlands Police to establish the full circumstances.
The fire service said "all possible support" would be offered to Mr Revell's loved ones and colleagues.
Flags have been lowered to half-mast across the service's sites as a "mark of respect".
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We are extremely saddened to confirm the death of a retired member of staff at Oldbury Fire Station in the early hours of Monday 15 July, 2024.
"Whilst the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious, we will be working closely with West Midlands Police as they establish the full circumstances.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this awful news, including the former staff member’s loved ones and colleagues.
"We will ensure they have all possible support.
"Flags have been lowered to half-mast across our sites as a mark of respect.”

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Oldbury Fire Station on Monday, July 15, after a man sadly died.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with those affected at West Midlands Fire Service, family and loved ones at this sad time."
